
About Our Us and our Love for our Business
Brian Smith, originally from Ohio, for the last 30 years has achieved many titles such as the
former United States Rhythm Finalist 7 times, former Latin United States Rising Star Champion, the
Triple Crown Championship, to name just a few. But the accomplishment he is most proud of is his
students accomplishments. He has trained several pro/am and amateur students who have become
United States champions. Accredited to teach Standard, American Smooth and International Latin,
he teaches all ages from 5 to 80 by appointment only,
Jerry grew up in a dance studio and from the tender age of 6 through out his college years as he
perfected his art. At age 12, he began teaching tap, jazz, ballet and baton twirling and knew then
that his career would always be dancing. He was a regular performer on a television show called
Teen Time Dance Party for several years and performed for many events through out Alabama and
Georgia. After the army, he traveled to NYC to study with the famous choreographer, Luigi. Later he
decided to move to Florida to study with Ron Daniels. Jerry made the switch to Ballroom dancing and has been teaching in
South Florida for the last 35 years where he has owned and operated 3 different dance schools. He is an accredited judge
in dance and beauty pageants and is a Miss America qualified judge and currently has been judging the Miss Sunburst
Pageants. He had a beautiful dance partner for many years, Elaine Richards, who was first runner up Miss USA and a well
known announcer of the Jackie Gleason Show.
Jerry really enjoys teaching students and watching them grow into ballroom dancers and still enjoys performing at the
Dance Heat USA Events which he co-hosts with Brian Smith. Jerry has always had this expression for his love of dance “

Both Brian and Jerry have been the proud owners of Tower Ballroom since 1989.
